Cinerary urns
What is cremation? Cremation is the process whereby the body of the deceased is incinerated and reduced to ashes. The ashes and bone fragments are diminished to an average of one 200th of an inch. Following cremation, the ashes are bagged and placed in a cinerary urn.
What is a cinerary urn? A cinerary urn is a container designed to hold a person’s ashes after cremation. Urns are available in many forms, sizes, materials and prices. The cinerary urn may be kept at home, buried in a cemetery, or placed in a mausoleum or columbarium.
What is a keepsake urn? A keepsake urn is a smaller container designed to hold only a portion of a person’s ashes. This allows for the distribution of ashes among family members or other loved ones. Should the ashes be dispersed, the empty vessel may be retained as a memorial. Keepsake urns may be purchased with or without the larger cinerary urn.
What is a columbarium? A columbarium is a grouping of compartments or niches that hold cinerary urns. These are located in cemeteries, or sometimes, on funeral home properties. Niches are either single or double and, on occasion, allow for the storage of other objects with the urn. The niches are most often imbedded in an interior wall of a mausoleum but there are also some outside walls at some sites for this purpose.
What size of sand urn do I need? For an adult, the urn should have a capacity of 200 cubic inches. If you plan to place the urn in a columbarium, you should check the dimensions of the holding niche before you purchase the cinerary urn.
Who places the ashes in the sand urn? You may bring your urn directly to the crematorium or ask the funeral home to place the ashes in the urn for you.
Must the sand urn be sealed? It is not required to seal the urn. However, should you wish to do so, we suggest you obtain a silicone-based sealer from your hardware store. Apply a bead of this sealer around the rim of the opening, with more towards the interior of the urn, replace the cover and press firmly.
May we spread the ashes? We are not aware of any laws regulating the dispersal of ashes. Therefore, it is possible to respect the wishes of a dear one and spread the ashes; however, we encourage you to check municipal regulations and seek permission from owners if this involves a private property.
Can the sand urn be buried? Yes, the urn can be buried. Without the protection of a hermetically sealed container, however, the sand urn will begin to disintegrate within a few months.
If kept at home, how does one maintain and keep the urn clean? The sand urn must be kept indoors. Simply dusting with a feather duster or soft brush will be sufficient to keep it clean.

Urns for animals
What size of sand urn do I need? In this instance the weight of your pet determines the size of the urn. The rule of thumb is a cubic inch per pound. Example: 15 pounds = 15 cu. inch urn.

How do you ship? We use Canada Post EXPRESS POST to ship all our products.
What are your shipping rates? Shipping rates: within Canada, the base rate is $10.00 per order + $2.00 per item;
to the United-States, the base rate is $35.00 per order + $2.00 per item.
The purchaser is responsible for any custom duties or applicable taxes.
What is the expected delivery period? Estimated delivery times: within Quebec, 2 to 3 working days; within the rest of Canada, 3 to 5 working days; and to the USA, 8 working days. We usually mail your shipment out the day after we receive the order, so please factor in this time as well.
May I track my order? Yes. We will e-mail the tracking information to you.
My order is urgent! In some situations, you might need your package really fast, for exemple, urns. In the province of Quebec, we can ship via Dicom, within 24 hours. You will have to contact us by phone and before noon of the day of departure. Costs are higher, 100$. 418 937-2917

Breakage during shipping
Should breakage occur during shipping, we would be pleased to replace the broken article at our cost, once we receive a photo or evidence of the breakage.
Exchanges
We do not accept returns. We would, however, be pleased to make an exchange within 30 days of the billing date. All shipping costs involved in an exchange are the purchaser’s responsibility. Items for exchange must be securely packaged and mailed via Canada Post with the supporting documents to:
